Zavlažovanie ako kľúč ku krásnemu trávniku
Zdravý, hustý a sýtozelený trávnik je snom každého záhradkára. Aby sa vám to podarilo, nestačí iba pravidelné kosenie. Zavlažovanie trávnika hrá jednu z najdôležitejších úloh. Ako a kedy zavlažovať, aby ste podporili zdravý rast a predišli problémom, ako je napríklad pleseň na tráve? Pripravili sme pre vás prehľad základných zásad správneho zavlažovania.
Kedy zavlažovať trávnik?
Najideálnejší čas na zavlažovanie trávnika je skoro ráno, medzi 4:00 a 8:00 hod. V tomto čase je vzduch ešte chladný, vietor slabý a slnečné žiarenie ešte nie je také silné, aby spôsobovalo nadmerné odparovanie vody. Rastliny tak majú dostatok času na to, aby vlahu prijali, a zároveň sa stihnú preschnúť, čo znižuje riziko vzniku plesní na tráve. Večerné zavlažovanie nie je až také vhodné ako polievanie ráno, pretože vlhký trávnik cez noc podporuje vznik plesní a hubových ochorení. No stále je to oveľa lepšia alternatíva ako polievanie počas dňa, keď sa voda rýchlo vyparuje a zbytočne sa ňou plytvá.
Ako často zavlažovať trávnik?
Frekvencia závisí od ročného obdobia, typu pôdy a aktuálneho počasia:
- Na jar a na jeseň stačí trávnik zavlažiť 1× denne.
- V letných mesiacoch môže byť potrebné zavlažovanie 2× denne.
- Počas dlhodobého sucha zavlažujeme každý deň.
- Pri novozaloženom trávniku je vhodné zavlažovať niekoľkokrát aj počas dňa, v závislosti od hustoty vzídeného trávnika a jeho zapojenia.
Dôležité je, aby voda pri zavlažovaní prenikla do hĺbky aspoň 10–15 cm. Takto sa podporí hlbší rast koreňov a trávnik bude odolnejší voči suchu. Vo všeobecnosti platí pravidlo:
cca 30-40 litrov vody na m² trávnika týždenne. Ak chcete zistiť, koľko vody ste skutočne dodali, môžete si na trávnik položiť nádobku a po skončení zavlažovania zmerať výšku hladiny vody v ňom.
Pozor dávajte aj na typ pôdy. Najlepšie vodu udržujú hlinité pôdy, takže ich netreba polievať až tak často. Piesočnaté pôdy rýchlo prepúšťajú vodu, preto ich treba zalievať o niečo častejšie a v menších dávkach. Ílovité pôdy síce vedia vodu udržať pomerne dobre, treba však dbať na to, aby voda nestekala po povrchu, ale sa skutočne dostala ku kmeňom rastlín.

Ak chcete mať zavlažovanie pod kontrolou bez zbytočnej námahy, automatická závlaha trávnika je ideálnym riešením. S kvalitným zavlažovacím systémom nastavíte presné časy a množstvo vody podľa potrieb vášho trávnika. Moderné systémy navyše umožňujú pripojenie dažďových senzorov alebo senzorov vlhkosti, ktoré zavlažovanie automaticky upravia podľa aktuálnych podmienok.

- Príliš časté a krátke zavlažovanie podporuje plytký koreňový systém a citlivosť na sucho. Hlbšie korene zabezpečujú, že trávnik je odolnejší voči suchu a vyžaduje menej časté polievanie.
- Nedostatočné zavlažovanie vedie k žltnutiu, riedkemu porastu a vzniku burín.
- Preliačiny a nerovnosti v teréne môžu spôsobiť nerovnomerné zavlažovanie a premočené miesta ideálne pre tvorbu plesní.
